Re: SS POTLATCH, 32 days adrift - Survivors?
My father, Henry Jensen, served aboard the SS Potlatch. I have photos of him from the time as well as various original newspaper articles published during the war. My father was only 17 years old when he was torpedoed. It was his first assignment on a Liberty ship. He went on to serve aboard many more ships patrolling the Atlantic as well as going on convoy to Mermansk. My father died on Jan 17, 1991 due to a massive coronary, ironically it was his heart condition that had kept him from joining the Armed Forces instead choosing to serve as a Merchant Marine. Would be happy to exchange information with you.
