SS POTLATCH, 32 days adrift - Survivors?
Posted by Eric Wiberg on October 21, 2012, 4:32 am
47 men from the SS POTLATCH (US) survived a 32-day ordeal, landing in the Bahamas Aug. 1 1942. There were 16 USN Armed Guard aboard, all of whom survived. I am in touch with 2 survivors (Ruggles and Jatho). Do readers know of any others, such as John Marion King of Rocky Mount NC? I am researching a book on the topic and great detail can be learned by emailing me or going to www.uboatsbahamas.com. Thanks! Eric T W.
