Re: SHOWCASE THOUGHTS
First you got to put a name before you can put some respect on it!!! If youth football was the mob...there would be coaches dropping like flies because most have no sense of loyalty. They jump ship as often as one should change their underwear, they cry because they feel entitled verses the urge to earn a permanant spot etc...Regardless of what the showcase means/meant to anybody here in San Antonio, we got our teeth kicked in by Houston once again!!! I had wished the Outlaws good fortune in their travels to Florida and Cali, the San Antonio teams that went to playoffs but no sense of unity was formed in the process. We have all this talent, FNT supposedly showcased where the talent was in Texas but yet we cant formulate a group with all this supposed talent and prevail as a city, and im not even from here!!! I ride for San Antonio because ive built a life here and my son plays youth football. This "Alliance" talk was for Orgs in my opinion not for the kids. We got Orgs that have so many kids then they know what to do with, we got Orgs that struggle putting teams together because they cant set their pride aside and place the kid in front. We have enough children that no Org that has stood as an Org for years should be without a healthy squad. Alliance...what we should do is encourage the Outlaws to come back to TYFA,if thats even a possibility, those teams that have been standing, we should form Alliances on each side of town and make sure that the kids find a home to play verses sit on the bench while all the coaches kids get all the playing time, and or jus so the Org can collect the parents coin. Every body wants to win by any means necessary, but developing our youth is not met with the same zeal!!! We know its not when we leave the city, get our teeth kicked in, leave the State, get our teeth kicked in etc...When these kids goto college, go to the league, they came from San Antonio, not which youth Org they were associated with. Open to all criticism, thats why i put my name on it.
