I predicted this very thing a few years ago when 3D Printing first began to hit models. Everyone is going to have their own 3D printer or else they'll be in 7/11s and Starbucks or a separate chain of print shops. It will save on shipping; they can ship raw materials more efficiently than boxes of models.
