same deal as you with plastic...don't use it on plastic. However, on Resin, it cuts nicely sometimes and not at all other times. The unit heats up quite a bit and shuts itself off. It was supposed to have "two speeds"...it does not. I should have kept the packaging and returned it. I will buy another "model" as it IS essential for cleaning up 3D printed stuff.

They do work, though maybe not as well as advertised. I have only used the one I bought off kickstarter, so can't compare it to others, but I was a little disappointed.
The advertising made it look fast and clean. For Plastic, it tends to heat up the plastic and cause some melting. Not unusable, but not as slick as I had hoped.
For Resin supports, it is awesome! No pressure, so no breakage!
Anywhere that is delicate and you want a gentle cut, it does make things better, but I personally haven't stopped using all my other cutting tools.
It's still a nice addition to the tool inventory, just not as useful as expected.

Does anyone here have experience with ultrasonic cutters? I'm intrigued, but they are expensive so interested in feedback from anyone who has one.
