If you scroll to the bottom of this first page, you find links to two more pages. Page 3 has photos from 1994 and 1998. You indicated late '90s, so the 1998 images would be your focus. Also, these images are a great way to look at all the changes. They start at the most recent, then work backward in time as you scroll down.
Starting from a 1975 Nimitz, you need quite a lot. Even the kit's planes will mostly not be useful. The '75 Nimitz had only Sea Sparrow missiles. The late '90s Vinson has NATO Sea Sparrow and CIWS, and you will need the sponsons to put them on. Pay attention to both the tower mast and island mast. You will find differences between the kit's and Vinson's. At Vinson's stern, note the accommodation platform with the protective bars. Another thing you will need which was not on a '75 Nimitz. Not even the Belknap pole is on a '75 Nimitz, because that was the year the collision happened, so those got added to the carriers soon after. You should notice the Vinson of the time period you want has acquired a number of electronic domes. You will then need those. Pay attention to the bridle arrestors, or the lack thereof.
These are some things off the top of my head. Good luck to you.

As built, there were a few differences. In current fit, after their RCOHs is another matter. Many changes to both over the years. You start with a "basic Nimitz kit" of her as built, you will need all sorts of changes, but the details of those depend on the time period you are looking for on your Vinson.
