So I am looking at another attempt on a shelved kit.
I gave up after cutting off the molded in main deck plastic railings did not come off cleanly or easily with an X-acto knift. I am thinking of wire cutters.

I reread Ashley and did not learn anything new.
Any recommendations when the deck railing are too thick for an X-acto knife?
