Re: engine identification
Rick you seem to be pretty knowledgeable on the Chevette. kit stuff. I bought a 1976 Chevy Chevette 1.6L kit car base to a 1929 Mercedes Benz Gazelle from a pawn shop on Long Island. The engine seems to have some miles on it but it checks out nicely. The Kit was mostly completed. I am working on it now. BUT, I need to find a timing belt tensioner or Chevy called it a timing belt idler pulley and an running out of places to look. Chevy discontinued years ago. It is very loud probably from sitting for a lot of years. The Kit speedometer shows 122 miles. Any advise to find this part would be welcome.
