Oh many scholars see the work as having prophecy within it, such as Psalms 22 which is noted to be a "Prophetic Messianic Psalm" as also is psalm 45. Such are called such because the deal with "Messiah" and are prophetic of events that would come later, and are still to come yet, from the time they were originally penned by David, and Solomon by some accounts.
It is my belief the entire work, is a prophecy of Messiah, revealing his nature.
PSALMS 91, reveals whom is being spoken of in vs 11-13...a person whom the angels have been given charge over, who will smite the head of a serpent (Dragon(s) ) under his feet/foot. The words of vs 11-13 are the same prophesied of Christ in other passages of scripture.
THAT SAID, note the early verses in the same section of scripture, Psalm 91.
IN Psalm 91, as past content in this thread illustrates that Christ is prophesied to be an owner of weapons...the Bow,arrows, the Sword and A Rod of Iron (all such weapons exist in Chinese Martial arts, including "The Eyebrow Height Staff"...a scepter made of Iron)...but in Psalm 91, we see THOUSANDS are prophesied to fall slain at the Feet of Messiah...
Still, in such in the book of Zecheriah, we see Messiah standing on the Mount of Olives watching as Jerusalem is raped and pillaged...and we see both Messiah and Jersalem delivered in the same passage. To usher in a 1000 year period of peace...this long "LIFE", this deliverance mentioned in Zecheriah 14, is also seen promised to Christ in verses 14,15 of Psalm 91.
You also see the reason for this promise, is the condition by which one KNOWS and Exhalts the actual name of G-D...and this is a prophecied trait of the 144,000 in Revelation 14...
Most people today call Christ by a pagan name honoring the Greek god of Lightning..."Ha'Zeus Christos"..."Jesus Christ"...literally meaning "THE ANOINTED ONE OF HEALING ZEUS."
They continue in many cases to call him by this title, not realizing the idolatrous nature of the same, or not caring, once enlightened that the name of Christ is actually Yeheshua...or in English, JOSHUA, meaning "God's DArling."
Just as they ignore the true name of Christ, much of the world does likewise with the name of the Father, and will be doing such during the timeframe of the fulfillment of the prophecies affliated to Psalm 91.
Those 144,000, will not only know the true name of Christ, they will have the TRUE name of the Father, sealed into their foreheads.
While Prophecy speaks of a great 1000 year time of peace, that time both begins and ends with the most heinous of all acts of human nature...War.
Here in this passage, we see prophecied, Christ...the WARRIOR!
King James Version: Psalms Chapter 91
1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.
9 Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;
10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.
14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.
16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.
