I never asked for anyone's agreement, I was simply stating my opinion. I believe that when Dr. Schweitzer stated "shrinks from injuring anything that lives" he meant to try not to hurt anything, if possible. Of course, there are always extenuating circumstances where injuring things cannot be avoided, such as the examples you provided. I would also include our military, and police as other great examples of where someone being hurt cannot be avoided.
