Drew Brees: He plays amazing at home, and I'm pretty sure the Raiders have to travel to them.
(Opponent: Roethlisberger, Rivers [bench], Eli [bench])
Devonta Freeman: ESPN experts expect him to "regress," and point to his weak second half. Let's say he does finish lower than 1st place at his position (maybe 3rd or 4th). That would be a regression, but isn't he still worth a second round draft pick?
Doug Martin: He'll be in the same game as Freeman. Last season, he averaged 10 fantasy points in games against the Falcons.
(Opponents: Lamar Miller, Jeremy Langford. I think THEY'RE both in the same game, too! Lamar is with the Texans now. To me, that's kind of an unknown, because the Dolphins supposedly "underused" him [and he'd still finish as a top 10 back]. Langford was an injury fill-in for Matt Forte last year, but what can he do as the #1 guy?)
Odell Beckham, Jr.: He was pretty average against the Cowboys last year, but you can never bench your studs.
Brandon Marshall: He keeps saying the hip pain isn't something that will limit him. I know the Bengals lost a few starters from their secondary.
(Opponents: Antonio Brown, A. J. Green. A. J. will be in the same game as Brandon, for whatever that's worth. You'd figure Revis will draw that assignment. Antonio Brown should draw Josh Norman, but he seems to catch balls regardless of the defense.)
Coby Fleener: I only know what he could do competing with another tight end at Indianapolis (now with "Gnawlins"). The Raiders weren't that great against TEs last year, though.
(Opponent: Antonio Gates. We might even have an edge here! Gates is getting older, and the Chiefs are a pretty good secondary.)
Keenan Allen [flex]: It was him, Jeremy Hill, Frank Gore, or a few other receivers. Gore didn't top 100 rush yards in a game last year and needed a TD to reach double figures (only five times). Jeremy Hill will be splitting carries against a strong Jets run defense. They only gave up TDs when other teams ran against them at least 30 times. Keenan Allen only has about two career games vs KC in three seasons, but one of them was a 100 yard effort. He seems to have the most "upside." I mean, if you look at Saints vs WR, they only held WRs without a TD in TWO games last year. The thing is, that TD this week could go to Amari Cooper, so Michael Crabtree could be kind of risky as a flex.
(Opponent: At first I forgot, but then Michael Floyd came to mind. With the Cardinals' WR corps, I don't really know how to rank them WR1, WR2, WR3. Larry Fitzgerald finally played like a Pro Bowl guy again last year. I heard John Brown was concussed. I don't know where they're playing the Patriots [home or away]).
Texans D/ST: The Chiefs AVERAGED 16 fantasy points against the Chargers last year, but I don't know how to rate them with an injured Justin Houston. The Texans were also beasts of weeks 9-17, and I'm not really afraid of the Bears (missing Matt Forte and Martellus Bennett, possible hamstring trouble for Alshon Jeffery).
(Opponents: Now I really do forget. Packers? They have to travel to Jacksonville, and I think they'll only be average this season.)
Justin Tucker: He had a 20 point game last year. You just had to bear with some of the 5s along the way. I know they play the Bills, but home or away?
(Opponent: Steven Hauschka. I loathe the Seahawks. I forget who they play this week.)
So, can you see the "logical" thought process in action? For Thursday's game, I knew the Broncos would still win, regardless of the QB. It just wasn't fun to watch when the defense kept going helmet to helmet on Cam Newton. I predicted Cam would be held under 200 passing yards, but it didn't matter. He scored 22 fantasy points by our league rules, which would be a top 10 week for most guys. It's crazy when you're able to get those running TD quarterbacks who exploit how the rushing TDs are worth more than the passing stats.
I think the Chiefs should beat the Chargers. I hope the Giants can handle the Cowboys starting two rookies on offense (QB and RB). They didn't deserve the win last year, but that's why you can't keep turning the ball over.
With other picks, I'm not so sure.
