How do you get office workers to actually keep things tidy and separate trash into categories?

It’s not like it’s easy even at home. You put a few different bins under the sink and that’s it. Then you have to sort everything anyway. In an office everyone is in a rush, they don’t pay attention to what they’re throwing away, there’s no time to rinse the same plastic that needs to be clean for recycling and stuff like that.

I actually think that when a person has waste separation at home and does it every day, they won’t really be able to stop doing it in other places either. The habit is already there.

You just need to make it all work for people, easy, comfortable, functional. It’s not enough to just place a few bins. If you want it to actually work and people to use it, you need solutions like here, for example. The containers look clean and minimal, each one is labeled or shows what can be thrown in it. There are people responsible for emptying them on time, so they don’t overflow. Then people will actually use them, I’m sure.
