Re: Youghiogheny river, in S.W. Pa. next year
I have run the lower Yough many times. Great 3-4 run of 7 miles. Lots of rapids. some pretty techincal rapids at lowwer water and big water when it gets above 2'. I used to live in northern Va. for many years. Has probably the best play spot in the world, swimmers. Very pretty area, lots of water falls, hiking trails really nice bike path. if the cheat is running its less than an hour from ohiopyle however it does usually run in the summer, its generally a springtime run. Many other creeks in the area. I think they are also releasing on Stony creek these days. Thats about an hour away. Lot to do in that part of the country. Could also good down and hit the New river gorge. Also another favorite of mine. I would be interested.
