I've been down there about 6 times back in the '90's. |
I'm thinking of a return trip next year.
Leave on a wensday, paddle the river thursday, again on friday, return home on saturday. 3 night's at Scarlett Knob campground
The 'Yough' (pronounced 'Yock') is a big water river. If it catches your interest, do a little 'You Tube' or internet searching to see what I'm talking about. It's a classic that has been a 'benchmark' for boaters for decades. Beautiful setting in the 'Laurel Highland's' of S.W. Pa.-just S.E. of Pittsburg. The town of Ohiopyle is the setting for this adventure, one gas station, one store that has everything and 15 rafting companies.
Just putting it out there now to hopefully plant a seed in someones head. A early August trip would be great ! (daily dam release)
