MySpace gives you options to add your own background and customize it. Facebook doesn't.
Facebook gives you the ability to control privacy of the information you share with your real-life friends and those you meet in Facebook.
In MySpace, they call it Categories, but there isn't an option yet to control what personal info they see. In Facebook, I can limit the info of my personal life, pictures and my Status (What's on your mind?) which posts on your NewsFeed or Wall. You can control who can write on your Wall and who can see that by setting Privacy options by setting your friends into groups. (i.e. Family, H.S.friends, game friends, etc)
MySpace and Facebook have a one-to-one chat feature. Facebook gives you the option to be visible/invisible to the 'groups' of your friends.
I've had some decent luck finding old friends, neighbors and family. By choosing your network, may it be your hometown, H.S. or college affiliation, to checking out the friends list of someone you do know (if their settings permit you to) and with the way the world is, (six degrees of separation) there are at least one or 2 folks I've found and then send a friend request (because like MySpace you can't see anything until you are "linked" by accepting a friend request). Then you check out their friends list and you'll probably find a couple of old friends they knew too.
While this may seem off-topic it is hopefully shedding some light on those 2 different networking sites. Twitter... I'm still trying to wrap my brain around as well.
This is what little I know and can share. If you or anyone has any questions we can take it off forum, you can always send me an email or a Facebook or MySpace friend request, just state OPJFC somewhere in the Subject line. I use the email address above.
Enjoy your weekend everyone.
