Poor Dan; what an ending to his story. He should have gone out with a bang! How many times does he need to apologize? Yeah, we get it; he did something horrible; something I might not be able to forgive and forget, but what a disservice to a great character. He should have done something dramatic and gone down in a hail of bullets at least. Not this whimpering, "Please forgive me," sobbing in Whitey's arms while the kids get to be all aloof and self-righteous.
The producers and writers completely blew it. I think I'll find my Season 1 DVDs and gleefully rub my hands while watching the real Dan Scott, not this pale shadow.
Five thumbs down for this absolutely pointless, banal ending.
