I, personally want to thank the Masonic Lodge #24 for sponsoring such a great BBQ event. They work tirelessly to make sure this event is successful, and Sat. May 14th was no different. W.L. Cantrell is the work-horse of event, and he makes sure everything runs smoothly as possible. Kevin Bagwell and all the lodge members pitch in to help and they do a great job. Big thanks to all these guys and wives too. What makes it great is that the town is behind it, also. Thank you Williamston S.C. Secondly, I want to thank the judging team, Jason Doss, David Mclaurin, Loveta Pope, Marcia Atkins and all the table captains and BBQ judges who all did a stupendous job judging some great pork and ribs. Let us continue to hone our craft so we can become the best judges we can be. Thanks again. Lastly, a big thanks to all the cookers for providing some great BBQ to sample. Scores were very close and we appreciate all of your efforts. We all know that without cookers there would be no contests Thanks again for the great job that you do. I especially want to thank Don Adkins for having a discussion with the cooks on Fri. evening and Marcia Adkins for making those delicious refreshment. I, also, want to thank Mike Sexton for using part of our judges meeting to put our judges at ease, but to also challenge them to grow and learn as judges to become better. Remember we are not there to eat but to judge what is before us on that day. Thanks Don and Mike for your leadership. Enough said. See you on the trail.

Thank you Williamston Masonic Lodge for honoring Harold "Bobcat" Allen for being the initiator of the first Pig in the Park BBQ Cookoff and for bringing it to fruition with the help of W.L. Cantrell and the hard work of all the lodge members. It was a privilege to accept the plaque and I was and am very proud of Harold. RIP in Heaven.
