The phone photos don't show up well so won't post. I will try to post some before and after pics later. We had 3 large spruces in the front and two willow trees at each end of the circle drive that are gone. We replaced the 3 spruces with 3 young dwarf Jane Magnolias so it will look totally different. We had to replace the center Magnolia because it was sick.
It was very private and now is very open and hard to get used to. But we are starting to like the new look. Maybe a bit more modern, and much more bright. 2 spruces fell on the deck (amazingly no damage there) and the other was leaning on the poor Maple tree that is in front of the house. So the Maple looks very scraggly because it didn't have limbs where the light was blocked by spruce trees. And is a mess because of huge spruce falling against it. We are still dealing with rocks and roots so haven't planted grass or flowers yet. It was an EF zero tornado. The only damage was to a piece of siding on our shed.
I am excited to see what other birds we will get. We are going to leave two White pines that were topped because woodpeckers like to nest in those.
