It was less humid yesterday but the wildfire smoke got worse again in the morning than finally retreated a bit in the afternoon and evening. It made it up only into the upper 80s so our heatwave broke.

Today the air quality is worse, we had thunderstorms and the smokey smell went away for a while but it's come back. It's a lousy day to do anything with drizzle than periods of heavy rain. My visiting sister just ran a few short errands including picking up some heat and eat stuff for dinner, pasta in tomato sauce, and broccoli rabe with garlic to hear up in the microwave for dinner in a while. But otherwise we still have flood watches and are expecting more heavy rounds of rain later. So not the day or evening for spending the time out. The entire state is under a tornado watch. Fortunately for us the worst of these storm cells are hitting the central part of the state so far.

Tonight there is Midsomer Murders on PBS. Tomorrow we'll go out to a few places including Costco before my sister heads home later in the afternoon. Sam doesn't yet realize he's going to stay here for a month. Nigel will be happy to have his buddy stay for a long visit though.
