It's mostly sunny, in the mid 30s heading up a couple more degrees. It's still breezy, but not like yesterday. The cold front came slamming through a little after 4 pm yesterday with sudden heavy wind gusts and horizontal rain. It went from being in the lower 50s to being in the lower 40s in a span of five minutes. It went down into the 20s last night with the heavy wind gusts continuing.

I had to put some ice melt on the front steps in the evening because everything wasn't dry from the rain by the time the temperature dropped below freezing. Several steps had icy slick spots. I didn't wind up ordering a grocery delivery for today in case this happened. So I will set up a delivery for tomorrow instead. We had only a little lighter rain with the cold front, but everything was still very wet because the original rain storm didn't end in the morning like the weather forecasters had predicted. That rain didn't stop until the early afternoon.

Today is just taking care of things around the house. I have to get things ready with the holiday later this coming week.

So far there has only been one Christmas card arrive to the house, a card from one of my sister's longtime friends.

Years ago when my family had dogs they didn't really bother with the Christmas trees. But various cats we had over the years were a different story. That's why the lower half of the Christmas tree only had non-breakable ornaments. The older glass ones were only placed near the top, away from the reach of cat paws.
