Normally the Democrats circle the wagons and let the media run interference for the party pervs, but they appear to be ready to cut Swalwell loose. I doubt if they care one way or another if he is guilty, they just want the whole thing to go away. Unlike the Kavanaugh situation where the so called victim was a Democrat plant, Swalwell is getting hit by one of his own staff members.
By cutting Swalwell loose this allows the Democrats to say, look we always believe the woman, even though this is a first when the accused is a Democrat.

I doubt they were ever really crazy about the idea of him leaving congress in the event he actually won his gubernatorial bid. He's one of their biggest and loudest Trump critics. Hypocrisy - "they have known about this for years and didn't care" == How many women have accused Trump of various forms of sexual abuse including rape? Doesn't seem to matter to MAGA.
At least 11 members of Congress called for Swallwell to resign, most of them Democrats. Tony Gonzales is now finally stepping down given that Swallwell's resignation has increased the pressure on him.
Swallwell and Gonzales are not above the law despite the fact that Trump seems to be.
Speaking of politicians and sexual abuse- people have not forgotten about the Epstein Files.
Melania appeared in a bizarre appearance distancing herself from anything Epstein related. Not sure the reason for that, but perhaps she was yearning for more screen time given that her much hyped movie "Melania" was a HUGE box office FLOP.

Why couldn't he just stop with the Chinese spy? Being accused by people on the other end of the political spectrum while not ideal, probably isn't as bad as being accused by people in your inner circle. Kash Patel is having a great time with this considering how Swalwell loved to attempt to play gotcha with him at every opportunity.
Swalwell was pretty much invincible until he apparently ticked off the wrong Democrat insider, and didn't follow orders. Swalwell is learning that now.
