Why has Trump blown up Venezuela alleged narco boats, but at the same time he has pardoned Juan Orlando Hernandez who just last year was sentenced to 45 years in prison for creating a cocaine superhighway to the United States?

Trump says of Hernandez “The people of Honduras really thought he was set up and it was a terrible thing,” Trump told reporters on Sunday. “He was the president of the country and they basically said he was a drug dealer because he was the president of the country … and I looked at the facts and I agreed with them.” Total BS

Why would the Trump use his “war on drugs” as a justification for overthrowing Maduro –while simultaneously offering a Get Out of Jail Free card to a man already found guilty of such crimes in a Manhattan federal court?

If you are in Trump's favor, he will believe anything you say as long as it doesn't implicate him.

Trump said that Hegseth told him he did not give the order to "kill them all" referring to the survivors of one of the attacks on the boats. Trump said he believes him, enough said.

Both Republicans and Democrats are pushing for an investigation into this. My guess is Hegseth gave the order and he is so incompetent that he didn't know it was a war crime.

Since the Trump Administration is anything but transparent about what the mission is.

Hegseth has barred most reporters from the Pentagon.

I think Trump will have to fire Hegseth because both Dems and GOP want this "kill them all" policy investigated.Trump will not be able to cover this one up like he has so many others.

Congress needs to get to the bottom of why all the military buildup in the Caribbean..

As far as Trump and his pardoning of criminals...there is always something in it for Trump or his family..He misuses the pardon power as a political tool and for self gain.

Fact:

Experts and U.S. intelligence reports indicate that Venezuela plays virtually no role in the production or trafficking of fentanyl to the U.S.. While some drugs like cocaine may be trafficked through or from Venezuela to Europe, the fentanyl pipeline is a distinct network.

What is the real reason behind going after Maduro? Vast oil reserves maybe?

So the original question was why, if Trump is so focused on the war on Drugs, is he going after a bit player that has virtually no role in making or distribution fentanyl, but he pardons a man convicted and sentence to 45 years for drug trafficking.

I think the basis for the Democrats protest here is that they are worried that the prices they pay for party drugs will make their raves unaffordable.

Blu - that (whatever it was supposed to be) was truly cringe worthy.

Trump is unhinged and out of control.... he's gotten to the point where his true motives are so obvious and he doesn't even care because he feels invincible. He's appointed a mixed bag of unqualified, incompetent people who will do whatever he says to stay in his favor. Some of his loyal MAGAts are seeing the truth, but it seems most will defend his every move.

Trump cares nothing about the war on Drugs and nothing says that more than blowing up boats that don't even traffic in fentanyl while simultaneously pardoning a convicted drug trafficker (by an American jury) :

He orchestrated a vast trafficking conspiracy that prosecutors said raked in millions for cartels while keeping Honduras one of Central America’s poorest, most violent and most corrupt countries.

He was sentenced to 45 years in prison which Trump wiped away because "the people of Honduras felt he was set up"

It's all starting to fall apart after less than a year in. Trump is already falling asleep in televised cabinet meetings.

Obama used over 500 drone strikes killing nearly 4,000 people, including 325 civilians and 4 Americans. Just a wild guess that the resident leftists were fine with that.

Yet today Trump is the bad guy for killing Venezuelan cartel members smuggling drugs on speed boats. Its interesting what these people can piss away as no big deal and what they work themselves in a tizzy over. Its almost as though they dont have an ounce of actual integrity.

Joe loves to engage in "whataboutisms" also known as deflection and it's usually an irrelevant comparison. It's part of the MAGA playbook and it's as old and tired as Trump himself.

It's expected and not difficult to see it for what it is. For good measure, Joe always throws in a "why didn't they react to what (insert Democratic politician's name) did. Probably because it usually has little if any relevance to current events.

You folks simply turn a blind eye to it, just like the allegations of Sharpton’s sexual misconduct, Clinton’s predatory deviance, Swallwell’s close (intimate?) relationship with Chinese spy, Fang Fang.
