panhandlers

I wonder how you all feel about the panhandlers that are a common sight at corners and highway exits. When I first noticed them, their signs said "will work for food" or something like that. People must have been offering them jobs or something, because now the signs I see don't mention work. I feel bad about complaining, but I just can't help thinking that most of them are just beggars. I wish I could tell the ones who are actually needy.

Not going to say all, but some of them make much more money in a day than you do. They drive home in their fancy car that is parked down the road.

That's funny and perhaps even true but not what I expected from one of the resident leftists. I don't think many of these people are driving fancy cars, maybe some, but they work just as hard as many of the Covid era holdovers supposedly working at home. Some of those people are the biggest scammers of all time.

A lot of them are drug users trying to get enough money to get their next fix.

I do not give to any of them. There are places for them to go if they are truly hungry.

I would rather make my donations to church food banks or community food banks...

I don't believe politics have anything to do do with these panhandlers. You might try to blame it on the economy or something, but I don't think that has anything to do with it either. It's just their way of life.

Panhandlers are always around, I just think its funny that lefties are not quite as quick to give away money when it is their money. They are more than happy to piss away other peoples money on every stupid project they may support though.

Oh, those aren't poor people, those are drug addicts, its hilarious.

Most of these people are legit, and of course like everything else some are not. Heaven forbid that you might give a fraud two dollars though right?

Joe has a dubious talent for turning any topic into an anti-left dig of some type. It's just expected, but it's a little obsessive. He is under the false impression that he KNOWS how everyone on the left thinks and acts.

I almost never carry cash so I don't give to panhandlers. Everyone has to make a judgement call about whether someone is legit in need or supporting a way to get high and enabling an addiction. I can think of a number of times that I've offered to buy a meal for someone if we're hitting a fast food drive thru and most times the offer is accepted and appreciated.

Since Trump everything is political, every damn thing. Last week a friend said he couldn't go to the Blues game because of Trump. Yes, Trump kept him from going to the game. So you all can pretend that Trump isn't in your head 24/7 but he is. This Thanksgiving many family gatherings will be turned into family battles because, yes everything is political, one way or another. I think its cute.
