While some are still fixated on Made for TV politics and demonize whomever is wearing the wrong colors politically, lets take time to think about those that are about to be furloughed, miss some paychecks and figure out a way to survive while some shithead politicians fight for the microphone to utter some inane drivel typically heard in a 7th grade debate club.

Real people’s jobs are about to be axed. These aren’t political appointments, they’re our neighbors.

Good luck to them.

PS - Congress and all them? Still get paid.

Government shut downs are somewhat like wars...those effected by loss of income have zero to do with the Government issues...

This government needs to find a way to continue pay for those who are working as well as Military..

I couldn't access the video without signing into Fox News (no thanks), but here's a direct quote from Trump when asked about back pay for furloughed employees:

"There are some people that really don't deserve to be taken care of, and we will take care of them in a different way, OK?"

Most likely illegal, but that doesn't matter to this administration. I do think this is an idle threat, not sure how they will identify those that "don't deserve to be taken care of" -- I supposed he could order Pam Bondi to find a way.

The Chuck Schumer shutdown of the government is an exercise in futility. Schumer fears losing his seat to AOC, one of the least qualified among many persons to ever win a seat in Congress, so he is holding out for what? To put it bluntly, AOC owns Chuckie Schumer these days and he knows it.

He is torn between the radical AOC/ Loon Squad and his determination to remain in power. Spending that would further increase our already unspeakable debt? Yup! After all, he is worth about $85 million these days. All that wealth came from his years of corruption, pimping himself to the highest bidders for decades.

AOC is allegedly worth $30 million after six years in Congress! And she knows nothing about anything!

Irrelevant comment as it relates to the MAGA Shutdown.

The longer it goes on the more people are learning the TRUE reason for the shutdown and the fact that Republican politicians are flat out lying to their constituents. I wonder what new lie they will come up with when their constituents lose their healthcare or can't afford premiums that have doubled.

Guess what... more RED states have people enrolled in ACA healthcare programs. 77 percent of these people live in states won by Trump in 2024.

The sticking point for Senate Democrats is an insistence on taxpayer-funded health insurance for illegals something they falsely claim is not something the federal government funds. There is also the issue of extending the "extra" Obamacare tax subsidies beyond the end of 2025, when they are set to expire. That can be negotiated separately to some degree but the Democrats want to grandstand it.

Schumer would like to bend again, but the last time he did so AOC took him to the woodshed. He has made the choice this time around to appease to the loonier wing of the Democrat party in a pathetic effort to save his own musty ass. At the end of the day AOC is still going to take him down , and it will be joyous to witness.

I agree, as do the Dems, as does Trump, but seems Mike Johnson does not. Johnson has ruled out a stand alone troops pay bill.

Everyone should get back pay... not just who Trump picks and chooses.
