The sticking point for Senate Democrats is an insistence on taxpayer-funded health insurance for illegals something they falsely claim is not something the federal government funds. There is also the issue of extending the "extra" Obamacare tax subsidies beyond the end of 2025, when they are set to expire. That can be negotiated separately to some degree but the Democrats want to grandstand it.

Schumer would like to bend again, but the last time he did so AOC took him to the woodshed. He has made the choice this time around to appease to the loonier wing of the Democrat party in a pathetic effort to save his own musty ass. At the end of the day AOC is still going to take him down , and it will be joyous to witness.
