HBCU Marching Band Gets Vicious Backlash for Wanting to Perform at Trump Inauguration. They should have seen this coming.
While most Americans would smile and open their wallets for the band, the race-baiters amongst us have decided to throw a tantrum for an outdated reason: The marching band is from the HBCU-designated Mississippi Valley State University (MVSU).
It was especially irksome to the race-baiters that Inauguration Day will coincide with Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, with one, the obnoxious Bishop Talbert Swan, tweeting out: "An HBCU marching band performing for Trump's inaugural on MLK Holiday is diabolical."
The band, known as the Mean Green Marching Machine, was excited to get the invitation, as they should have been, but they were forced to endure this hate. How dare they!!!
The celebrated "Mean Green Marching Machine" marching band from Mississippi Valley State University (MVSU) has received an invitation to participate in the 60th Presidential Inauguration Parade in Washington, D.C., on January 20, 2025. This historic invitation highlights the band's legacy of excellence and cultural significance, showcasing the university and Mississippi's rich heritage globally.
The 250-member strong band started a GoFundMe to raise the funds needed to get to DC, and MVSU's president spoke of the importance of the school participating in the inauguration.
"This is not just a moment of pride for our university but for the entire state of Mississippi," said Dr. Jerryl Briggs, MVSU President. "It is an opportunity to showcase our legacy, celebrate our culture, and invest in the future leaders of our community." This participation allows students to engage in the peaceful transition of power and gain global exposure while celebrating the university's 75th anniversary," Briggs added.
Right on cue, the race-obsessed Bishop Swan chimed in to belittle the band for taking part in the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Seems almost Cult like doesn't it???IF JB does anything to violate federal law, haul his ass away like anyone else.
I have to admit that at first, I thought the left would get over it and I understood their frustration.
Now, I love the fact that the extreme lefties like Reverend Al, the View Sleezes, and half of Hollywood are just sick to their stomachs over their massive defeat.
I remember one year in football we beat one of the Belleville teams by over thirty points. As we departe on busses, some of their students were spitting at the bus, calling us names, etc. At first it made us mad, but then we just laughed and made fun of them all the way back to GC.CHIEFS THREE-PEAT
My old high school Belleville East once beat GC 71 to 0. I can't imagine a Belleville school losing by 30 points to GC, and the coach keeping his job. It had to be Belleville West. When I was in high school GC was considered an automatic win in football, and almost automatic in basketball but they were damn good at soccer and wrestling.
I have to give Granite City credit for having the good sense to stop playing East St.Louis in football. Just about every other school in the area should have learned that lesson by now also.IF JB does anything to violate federal law, haul his ass away like anyone else.
They are going to try to start playing smaller schools in the years ahead. 1-26 in 3 years will do that. The one win was against Madison. The policy of the American government is to leave their citizens free, neither restraining nor aiding them in their pursuits. -Thomas Jefferson
Memory fades Joe. It may have been West and you may have been in kindergarten at the time. We were never a powerhouse on football but we did have several wins in my time.
The last, best team was in the late 80’s when they beat East side and maybe around 93 when they only lost one game.
Now it appears we are also losing in wrestling and soccer as well.
So what you’re saying is that Belleville JO doesn’t even have credentials to speak upon GC?
I noticed he didn’t have stats in that game, let alone any conflict.
Sounds right, shoeless Joe

I miss Ol' Elroy, but now we have the Pillow Guy. I think Ol' Elroy would've been a Trumpster though. If you don't read the papers, you're uninformed. If you read the papers, you're misinformed. - Mark Twain

Not really Belleville Joe, I didn't care anymore for Belleville than I do anywhere else in this state. But it could have been worse I suppose, just like GC could be worse. I try to look at the bright side Pillow.IF JB does anything to violate federal law, haul his ass away like anyone else.
