Chuck May Be Right

Chuck Todd said this morning that Harris will be a one termer if she wins.

He cites that we are becoming a nation of voting against as opposed to voting for a candidate.

In 2016, people voted against a very unlikeable Hillary.
In 2020, people voted against what they perceived to be a loose cannon in Trump.
Now, people will vote against that same loose cannon or a very unlikeable Harris.

In short , we are voting for the lesser of two evils or strictly along party lines.

Chuck may be right on this.

Harris will be easy to control, so maybe keep that in mind also. If she wins, she will dump A. Walz the second go around, or I should say Obama will dump him, if the country isn't completely in shambles by then.

Damn, Tim Walz really really really wants to be a U.S. Senator pretty badly.

Opi - I think you and Todd are correct to a certain extent. I think there are a wide variety of reasons people are voting for their chosen candidate and disdain for the opposing candidate is definitely at play. We only have 2 choices and you either pick one or sit at home. Both candidates need to motivate that person who knows who they would prefer, but they are not motivated enough to vote.

Some people will vote along party lines, some will vote one particular issue, some on character (like ability). I'm not putting much stock in any polls and I think it is either going to really close or I wouldn't be shocked if there's a blowout.

My wife and I were daydreaming about leaving for a remote island paradise with no internet TV, phones on Nov 5 and coming back 2 weeks later. Of course, jobs, kids, animals etc make that only a dream.

IF she wins, Harris won't be on top of the 28 ticket. She was like a comfortable pair of shoes you find in your garage. You put them on but then realize they have dog feces on them, and you toss them.

Walz has already proven to be a boob much like Tim Kane was. No way he's back.

I think the reason Nicki Haley is quiet is because she has plans for 28 and I would love to see her be the first woman President.

Tuesday and maybe all the way through Thursday will be fun. Legal challenges due to funny business in Georgia and Pennsylvania are already starting to surface and there will be more.

No repeat of Jan 6 this time. Jail terms for the last batch of animals will deter those efforts. Saddle up boys and girls. We are in for a long ride.

If Nikki Haley runs I'm going to be the new "both sides" person. I am going to be Soccer and Pillow's biggest fans, and encourage all the Anti-Haley people, and tell them how much I enjoy their input. She will be dubbed the female Hilter in here,(even worse than Trump) and to be fair I will be forced to agree with many of the Nazi traits being associated with her. I hope I can be an adequate both sides person.

BTW, no way in hell the Democrats would be able to toss in the Trash an incumbent Kamala like they did that senile piece of garbage, Biden. Cant wait til 2028.

The Republican party really needs to retool at some point. To undo the damage done by Trump may take years.

I don't know what side will win out, but post Trump there will be a winning faction between the Trump and Fake Christian Republicans (who are essentially the same) and the Decent Republicans who actually believe in things like integrity.

I'm not sure sure who will win when it all shakes out. I'm hoping that the voters choose those who stood up to Trumpism, but time will tell.

Hopefully they will be able to look their grandchildren in the eye when they ask "What did you do when Trump threatened the Constitution and the Rule of Law..."

Hopefully more will want to say "I did everything I could to stop it from happening."

As for me, a third vote against Trump is on its way!!!

Opi- as far as Haley being quiet, I saw an interview with her where she said she has offered to campaign with Trump and act as a surrogate, but he has not responded to her.

Makes no sense, but it's Trump. She could have helped him with women particularly. The question of why he wasn't accepting her offer is what prompted Cuban to make his statement about Trump not wanting to be around intelligent women, because he was intimidated by Halley.

She actually has made a few appearances, but I believe Trump has chosen Tulsi to fill the Nikki Haley role.

Trump threatened the Constitution by not letting the ones trying to shoot him succeed.

The third Trump vote for me, he wasn't my first choice but now he is the only choice. The other option is full-throttle VENEZUELA. Maduro, Harris, same thing.

The Democrats have spent tens of millions of dollars more than Republicans in these House races. They will steal damn near all of them in California that may be close, which could give them a narrow edge. The aim of course is to put Trump on the defensive with endless hearings and a few more BS impeachment efforts. You know the drill with these people.
