Welcome aboard Tulsi.

I know I speak for everyone here in welcoming Tulsi to the party of the people. She gave it her best effort but she simply couldn't deal with the loons anymore.

Tulsi is a moderate Democrat.

She’s signing on less than two weeks from an election so that she’s poised for 2028 and can deny connection to the Trump fans.

You’ve been duped again.

That's an interesting and predictable way to look at it, and it makes less than zero sense. She went from a so-called moderate Democrat to an Independent to a Republican. She saw the light, she just took small steps to get where she belonged. Yes, bob, of course, Pillow and Soccer are welcome, but hell no they won't follow suit.

We get a well spoken, attractive and tough on crime woman and they get a crumpled up, wrinkled face, sea hag who only became important when her dad did..

We see what happened to her on her next campaign.

I'm satisfied with that trade Opi. Cheney put aside her personal ambitions at the time, to put country above the MAGA agenda and philosophy.

I try to separate my disdain for Trump and MAGA from the Republican party in general, but it's difficult when so many R leaders turn a blind eye and defend the actions and words of this man.

The Democrat Party has known from the beginning of the Biden-Harris regime that Kamala Harris as vice president was in way over her head, which is exactly why Democrat elites were also terrified of the prospects of Harris replacing Joe Biden; she was Biden's insurance policy. You're voting for someone who called those who died in battle 'LOSERS', just because someone else on here said something about Gold Star families?

Posted by opinionated User icon on October 23, 2024, 8:59 pm, in reply to "Re: Welcome aboard Tulsi."

Why would you vote for someone who despises our military heroes,.

Please stop with that BS propaganda. Trump supported this military more than any President since Reagan.

He made a stupid comment about John McCain. However, he didn't screw up the withdrawal of military units from Afghanistan and get thirteen soldiers killed. He didn't surrender millions of dollars of equipment which ended up in enemy hands. He supported the best ally we have in the Middle East while these two fools in the WH now are trying to tell Israel how to eliminate terrorist without having a clue.

And let's look at the VP candidates. One, who actually did carry a weapon in war and one who plays weekend soldier.

No, Dee when it comes to military support, there's no decision to make. As for my comment about only voting for Trump because of what some fool on here said about Gold Stars, you know that's not the reason I will now check the Trump box.

I don't like much of what Trump says or does. Kamala is a clueless idiot, and every interview exposes her for what she is. She was used by the party to remove Biden and I would bet you anything, Biden could have still won. I think we are looking at a repeat of 2016.

We are going to see that people vote mainly due to the economy that impacts them daily. They want to feel safe with a strong police and military presence as opposed to a cackling woman and weak male.

If I'm wrong, laugh the morning of the 6th and I'll eat humble pie. I've done it before. As Joey points out, I do try to find middle ground because ultimately, it's the only way this country can survive without some nutjobs starting a new civil war. However, I will still lean right today, tomorrow and the next day.

I hope that clarifies my position sir.

Meeting in the middle and seeing that the person who votes a different way still loves their country is a unique and honorable way to look at things. You're one of few who can come up from the swamp for a breath of fresh air once in a while...and I've always respected that.

I won't go out to defend Kamala and Walz this time, though I don't think the assault on Walz in particular is warranted.

When it comes to military and foreign policy, I would then ask why the very people he appointed to lead have now turned against him.

They were honorable people when Trump appointed them, but now are detestable because they have turned on Trump? There could never be accountability for the Donald.

He appointed Mattis, retired four-star general to chief of staff John Kelly was another retired four-star general, two of his national security advisers were three-star generals, Michael Flynn and H. R. McMaster.

What do they have to say about the Donald?

"“Donald Trump is the first president in my lifetime who does not try to unite the American people—does not even pretend to try. Instead, he tries to divide us.” " - Mattis

"Trump’s “ego and love of self… drove him to abandon his oath to ‘support and defend the Constitution,’ a president’s highest obligation.”
-McMaster

McChrystal stated: he is voting for Vice President Kamala Harris because of her “character.” In the past, he has said Trump is “immoral” and “dishonest.”

You don't need to take my word....read about what the generals who served while he was Commander in Chief had to say....and why they wouldn't wish that on the Country again. Read for yourself

You didn't like it when people talked about Trump's multiple deferments in the war in Vietnam...and now you criticize Walz' service record?

Yeah, I am quite alright in not electing a megalomaniac who would turn the US Military on the 'Enemies from within' and in turn, turn the military on his own people.

He is no friend of the US Military....Arlington National Cemetery to him is just a prop for a photo opp.

Re: l

Posted by Soccer User icon on October 23, 2024, 9:46 pm, in reply to "Re: l"

Above and beyond the multitude of reasons I would never vote for someone remotely like Trump, the honest assessments of these respected military leaders and the many instances of Trump's disrespect for wounded and dead soldiers sets off alarm bells for me and confirms, in my opinion, he is totally unfit and dangerous for our country.

His plans to have no checks and balances, no guardrails against his erratic behavior is a recipe for a disaster.

Re: l

Posted by opinionated User icon on October 23, 2024, 10:45 pm, in reply to "Re: l"

Come on guys. We know Trump can’t turn the military on his own people or detractors. He might use the DOJ to get some evens.

As for Walz military record? He has none. Look, the Guard is great to have in war time but he lied about being in a war zone. That’s major disrespect to real battle vets.

Yes, Trump was medically deferred. I had friends who avoided the draft by sitting in colleges and burning flags. They are no better in my view.

Personally I would reinstate the draft. We’d see some of these kids on college wet themselves if they had to work their college debt off by serving.

When it comes down to it, no one has the right to talk about evading the draft other than those who served. Cowards came in all economic groups during Nam.

And Jan 6 is now history. It was a lesson learned about how NOT to handle a riot. Won’t happen again without lethal action.

I worry more about another 911 with some of these animals who have crossed our borders. The FBI already stopped one attack planned for Election Day.

Opi, 6 Jan is very recent history and it could very well be repeated or worse and I don't know that Trump could not use the military for his own personal benefit. That is what he aspires to and if he systematically staffs with handpicked die hard supporters and yes men and women I wouldn't put anything past him.

I believe thinking "that could never happen" is being naive. The unthinkable does happen, and especially could with Trump. That is not an original thought of mine, but comes from my Dad who I have great respect for above anyone. What I may lack in historical perspective on things he fills in for me.

Interesting hearing your views as well, conservative for sure, but not extreme and based upon conspiracy theories. Respect for you too.

Let me rephrase. The military would not take such a command from any leader.

What can and will happen according to the FBI director is another 911. When it does, I hope Biden and Harris step up and take responsibility for it. The only thing Harris answers correctly is we have a broken border. What she fails to say is we had put a heavy band aid on it under Trump and she and Joe ripped it off and allowed the bleeding.
