The idea that a teacher of small kids feels the need for their sexual orientation to seen and understood by their young students is so bizarre. Gay, straight or otherwise - why is there an obsession to explain sex and sexual preferences to young kids that aren’t yours. Of course there’s a time and place for this discussion. But that isn’t for a public school system to force onto families. As a student, I didn’t care to know what my teacher’s favorite food was or hobbies much less felt the need to know their personal details of relationships and sexual preferences. It’s truly psychotic.
And before anybody twists this post - I believe adults should feel accepted by society and allowed to live their lives freely.

But I DO NOT think that spills over to being entitled to share things with small children without the parents consent. I can’t believe this is even a debate. Parental rights come first over a public school teacher’s emotional needs.

End of discussion.

Agree 100%. And if idiot parents would do their jobs to teach their kids about sex and individual responsibilities, we would have fewer knocked up thirteen year olds and maybe less need for abortion clinics. Of course parents who fail to teach those things are probably the spawn of irresponsible parents too. Either way keep sex Ed at home when the parents are ready to have those discussions.

Teen pregnancy? Abortion?

Both are at all time lows and have been declining since the 1990's.

Just give in to your child's request and buy them a cell phone and they won't even talk to their friends, let alone impregnate or get impregnated.

So either something is working well with education and prevention,....

Or someone threw them a cell phone and they're no longer interested.

Chinese third graders are being taught multi variable calculus while our third graders are being taught that men can have babies. How do you think this is going to turn out in the end? Asking for a friend.

Best thing about this debate of sex and gender discussions with little children is that teachers who want the right to say whatever they want to children who aren’t theirs without parental permission are leaving their profession in “protest”.

Good.

Take your agenda and get out of tax payer funded public school classrooms.

This isn’t an argument of what particular view of the world is “right”, but rather a position of protecting young children from adults wanting to force their world view on those not old enough to think for themselves.

It’s that simple.

It's a very valid request and I understand.

I would be surprised if the curve has reversed its trend.
