Public schools

The idea that a teacher of small kids feels the need for their sexual orientation to seen and understood by their young students is so bizarre. Gay, straight or otherwise - why is there an obsession to explain sex and sexual preferences to young kids that aren’t yours. Of course there’s a time and place for this discussion. But that isn’t for a public school system to force onto families. As a student, I didn’t care to know what my teacher’s favorite food was or hobbies much less felt the need to know their personal details of relationships and sexual preferences. It’s truly psychotic. And before anybody twists this post - I believe adults should feel accepted by society and allowed to live their lives freely. But I DO NOT think that spills over to being entitled to share things with small children without the parents consent. I can’t believe this is even a debate. Parental rights come first over a public school teacher’s emotional needs. End of discussion.
