Mrs O. Is following a new page on her Facebook called 62040 April elections. It’s actually very interesting and may open eyes to your choices next April.
People are actually asking some intelligent questions of mayor candidates and school board candidates.
Among them, how are you going to bring in new businesses, how do you handle the drug and homeless problem? It appears we only have one serious contender, a police officer. The other two, based on a serious lack of communication through the English language aren’t viable contenders.
Schools appear to have numerous candidates including a former coach, a current coaches wife, a cop, a preachers wife and one or two incumbents.
Of course their big questions center on COVID response, better communication , test scores and residency of staff. Here’s a clue candidates, you can’t make teachers live here. Supposedly a couple of administrators no longer reside here either.
Not much about park board or alderman positions. Looks like several unopposed offices. Yes we gripe but few step up. Anyway it’s interesting hearing Mrs. O and her friends talking about it.
