Governor JB Pritzker says voters' rejection of his "fair tax" plan leaves the state with only two options: tax hikes and spending cuts. But Illinoisans for decades have already been forced to suffer both.
That's because state leaders continually ignore a third option: pension reform, which would protect Illinoisans from both higher tax bills and under-funded services.
