Well you have to hand it to whoever handed out the scripts to the democratic senators on this committee. I mean it's really well done. They gave up crucifying the religion of the appointee and now will focus their attack on the fate of the ACA and an occasional jab toward Roe V Wade.
Now they know, as ignorant as they may be, that they are only "guessing" how a vote in the court will go. They know that Kavanaugh has already made clear that he won't vote to totally dismantle the ACA and in fact, that issue isn't even being heard at this time. If the candidate is half as intelligent as I think she is, she will not commit to any specific points of law in her statements. In fact her response should be, "Senators, it would be inappropriate for me to pass judgement on any case without hearing the full testimony from both arguments". End of discussion.
Now I do blame Trump somewhat for what this highly intelligent and honorable jurist will go through the next couple of days. He shot his mouth off about appointing people who will do the right thing, as if he knows how they'll vote. Mr. President, please stfu. You make things more difficult when you show your total disdain and ignorance of the law and how our legal system works. (I know Dee likes that part)
How many pictures of "scared" people will we see today in the thought that they may lose insurance. Good job boys and girls. Fear is a great tactic. This isn't a hearing, it's a political campaign rally (one with about as many as Joe usually gets).
Finally, anyone who uses the term "court packing" is really showing their stupidity. Appointing someone who has ruled in ways that follow your party's thought process may be "slanting" the court but Joe and Kamala are the ones talking about true "Packing". Packing is when you upload the number of seated judges to a number where you think you can actually stack the deck. Stop using that argument. You only verify your stupidity.
Congratulations to your next member of the court, Judge Amy Coney Barrett.
