In a previous career, long before I worked at interesting places like MESD, I met a guy who was convinced he was going to harm a prominent Illinois politician whom had moved to Washington, DC. Mr. Smith came and picked him up at the hotel I worked at, where he was staying at in Alton with a motorcade full of black Cadillac Escalades.
It was a scene right out of "The Matrix".
I never saw him again; nor did anyone else.
A Riverbender moment in time.
We all lived there at the time, although I would be allowed out on evenings, weekends and holidays. It was a noisy place, painted in pastel colors that well...screamed at you anyway.
Wherever he is today, when the Haldol wears off, I'm sure he would say he is a changed man; I know I am.
Whatever you do in life, pay little attention to what politicians say; rather, watch what they do.
