It depends on how the suit was worded. Hopefully it said, " suing on behalf of the people of Illinois". If so, it will definitely strengthen a case for precedence.
Trump played these governors like a cheap fiddle.
Trump: " As President, I have the power to open these states and I will use that power". ( My guess is he knew that was not true)
Governors: " NO way Mr. President. We run our states independently of the federal government".
Trump: " Okay boys and girls, it's all yours.
Governors: " Oh shit, now we are on the hook for what we do".
Trump has his supporters no matter what. Now these governors are in the hot seat to make their play. Read his book, "Art of the Deal". You'll better understand the method beyond the madness.
