I don't know why Trump or anyone else is making such a big deal out of the "non-endorsement" by former President Obama yet.
His endorsement during the primaries would not only be bad for the party, it would be bad for his perceived importance.
He'll be the big bang speaker at the convention this year where he will incite riot among not only his supporters but for most of the Bernie-ites. Like him, love him or hate him, he's the voce of the party right now and he and only he can pump the party up for a fight against Trump.
No other Democrat including Joe, Hillary, Bill, Pocohontas or Bernie himself can get it done and real centrist democrats know it.
