I'm sad to hear that in a way....not for partisan reasons. I didn't know anyone in this story personally, but did know two from a distance....probably people that wouldn't know me back...and really wouldn't have a reason to remember me.
All the same, I'm just sad to hear that a really good kid that I knew from a distance in the HS years (and probably didn't know me back) ended up using what seemed like a natural gift of leadership in an allegedly corrupt way. Seemed like a spirited and charismatic kid back in the day.
I think that happens a lot when we grow older. I suppose the other side of the coin is that the other person was a quiet kid that I had in some undergrad general ed class....and happy for the choice he made... if what is reported in that story is fully accurate.
I suppose if I knew these people really well, I wouldn't even get on here to say anything, because there wouldn't be that sense of 'where do I know that name from?' And there is no desire to drop any names or associations. It's just interesting when someone who hasn't entered the thought process over 20-25 years is suddenly in a news story.
And with that..... This is when I know I am starting to have a little more time on my hands I guess.
All the same.... who cares what party they're in... The left wing....and the right wing....belong to the same bird. Some are going to do right by the people, and some are going to try to use that advantage to exploit the system somehow.
