Dave, i know the flood insurance that those are forced to have in order to get a house loan is a rip off. Many years back i had three feet of water in my basement because one of my sump pumps died on me. I was told, you arent covered for anything unless the water reaches the living space of your home. The real bad flood a few years ago as bad as it was the water didnt come close to coming in my back door. So in 14 years not one time would flood insurance do me any good. Its like Obamacare was, maybe even worse. They force you to have it and it doesnt pay a damn thing in 98% of the time. The best thing about paying a house off around here is not having to pay for useless flood insurance. Maybe this wont be as useless, but i dont see many people rushing to apply for it.
