Sadly today is the final day for this long time family business. I knew Mr. Petri quite well. I was so glad after his passing that his son and daughter in law, along with his widow kept the place going. With the death of Ruth earlier this year, I figured this day was coming. I'm not sure how old the son is now but I know he has to be in his mid 60's so retirement looms. Great little diner with good food, friendly service and a long standing respect from our city. While they'll be missed, it's evidence that time stands still for no man. Family businesses often pass into time with their owners especially in an age where younger generations don't care to pick up the reigns. Good luck to the Petri family and thank you so much for all of those breakfast meetings you hosted for my colleagues and I.
