I hold both of the major parties in relatively low regard. I try to educate myself on the topics that resonate most with me and learn about the individual positions of the person running for office. I cast my vote accordingly.
Sometimes those persons happen to be a Democrat. Sometimes they are a member of the Republican Party.
We send these donkeys, whether it’s to Springfield, Washington DC or city hall to act in our best interests.
Politics should not be for one’s own personal gain. Unfortunately it’s become that.
With TV coverage and social media, what should be a noble profession is turned into WWE-style monologues, talking points and zealotry.
Neither side has all the answers. Neither side is perfect.
If someone wants to blindly throw their faith to one side and all other non-considered sides be damned, that’s their right.
In my opinion, that’s a foolish way to go about it.
