I agree with all here, dont know if anything can be done at this late date. What I do know is that there are many other communities that are alive and well. We installed a new furnace in the lovely town of Greenville il last week, nice little bedroom community that is alive and well,nice little downtown area that is thriving, and they dont have a steel mill that is the main "anchor" that people talk about. did a job in Staunton also, same thing. So, my question to all the readers is as follows: with us having all of our good things that we have here, along with the view of the gateway arch, roads, rail and the river,, why cant wew prosper and be a great bedroom community like other places are. truthfuly, im getting a little long in the tooth here to worry about it much longer. IM ready to leave town my own self, but i got about 3-5 more years to clean up a few things. The biggest thing we need to do here is to clean up our image, our mental concept of ourselves, and as the other person said, get more involved.
