Being a few scant yards away from the trailer park has its perks. I get to watch 40 year old men running around like little girls after firing off the July lot rent money on fireworks in the middle of the street. Not that we dont have the same thing on the block I live on, but it doesnt appear as extreme. Maybe its just the better view I have of the park. Most of us with dogs hate this Holiday because we have to deal with freaked out pets so that people actually breaking the law can act like children. When I was 14 I thought Cherry Bombs and M 80'S were the greatest thing ever. I did so much stupid stuff its miracle I didnt blow one of my arms off. So I get the kids liking this, I just cant relate with adults thinking this is fun. Im sure Oliver Anderson will have several drunk middle aged nitwits in the ER tonight, who forgot to duck. Maybe they will have learned something, but probably not. I dont care if people stay up all night in the back yard and play music and get drunk as hell. Others might, but I can block that out. Its not easy to block out commercial grade fireworks when two 75 lbs dogs are jumping in your lap. One of my relatives was one of those that had to outdo the neighbor, every neighbor on this day. I think the fascination finally wore off, I hope so anyway.
