I admit its a bit of a reach, but if the bullets weren't legal and his prints were all over the place, that may have been problematic for him. You would think that they would have to prove that those were the bullets used in the attack though. IMO that whole thing was fishy as hell and i doubt we will ever know much about that awful day.
