Illinois school districts in general, and Granite City School district in particular, are dysfunctional to the extent that it begins to affect the local economy.
Not necessarily the day to day cost, rather the burden of creating offspring that cannot qualify for good jobs here or anyplace else.
Note that Granite City is not the only locale where this is a problem.
