Women who are harassed often do not come forward or tell anyone, because often it is a powerful and respected man who has harassed them. They are often embarrassed or not believed because everybody likes the abuser and the victim is called a liar. Most of the time the abuser does it when alone with the woman, making it her word against his. So there is no proof (picture, or film) or witness and the woman is often accused of having an ulterior motivate I have no idea if all the accusations of late are true, but when one victim comes forward it often gives others the needed courage to come forward, even many years later. (as in Clinton's case)
