    I can certainly understand them trying to protect Neidringhaus Avenue and the "nostalgic" value it has. Laseles , the new theater and the other shops on that block look nice. The book store and the Lance Callis office also look good as you approach the new area.

    However, I believe there have been two "art" stores that have come and gone since this project began. I think it's now clear that most Granite Citians won't support that kind of store.

    I would love to see them open up 19th street and the intersecting blocks to businesses who will put those feet on the street that the mayor wanted to see.

    I hear that Niedringhaus Church has dwindled in membership but it's a great looking building. Of course our library in an awesome architectural piece too. I hope the Y building survives but it looks like it's dying a slow death.

    I think there is room for a little more open planning in the downtown area.
