Remember he has more than tolerated NEPOTISM in the township during his term as trustee? But its an issue now? Sure it is, sure it is. The wife of the current highway commissioner was paid approximately $120,000 over the last four years out of road and bridge funds that could have went to road and drainage projects.
By law, Illinois townships are charged with three basic functions:
1) general assistance for the indigent; 2) the assessment of real property for the basis of local taxation; and 3) maintenance of all roads and bridges outside federal, state, and other local jurisdiction.
The township highway commissioner has NO SAY SO over roads and bridges or drainge inside the Village of Pontoon or Granite City. Any work done by the Nameoki Township Road Crew in the Village of Pontoon is done at the direction of the Pontoon Beach Administration and Nameoki Highway department is reimbursed for that work by the Village.
Does anyone see the word "drainage" in those functions? But what he is saying looks really nice to people who believe BS. Randy Viessman made Luehmann charge of the "Drainage Committee", let's use the poor flooded out residents to set Charlie up to become commissioner, I can almost hear it now. But when is the last time Charlie has generated a "Drainage Committee Report"?
Due to poor cash management the union employees had their health care canceled on March 1,2017.
Poor cash management or a planned ambush by checks not being signed by Randall Viessman, and once signed, front office staff failed to notify the road department? But doesn't his explanation sound so much more damning, whether true or not. Makes for good political propaganda especially when something like this has only happened once in four years, and it happens a month before the election???
Won't let the current administration continue to waste your money.
Not much of an explanation on how any money is being wasted, nor what he will do to stop it, more rhetoric. But if we want to count Charlie sitting back and allowing two front office employees to purchase medical insurance for themselves and never once questioning it, I'd say that was wasteful at the very least. It's probably a lot more than just wasteful.
I promise I will be fiscally responsible for the taxpayers.
How fiscally responsible has Charlie Luehmann been when refusing to audit the General Assistance Fund? Not questioning why employees who aren't eligible for medical insurance were receiving it, and it all being paid for with no employee contribution. His job as trustee was specifically to make sure your tax dollars spent responsibly and he voted yes to pay each and everyone of these questionable bills.
And since he likes dredging up troubles from twenty years ago we have this:

Being brought to suit by someone named ASSOCIATES FINANCE that sounds kind of "financial" to me. What could this be? Probably an award for being so fiscally responsible.
Oh and this counts even though its more than twenty years old, just like the trash Charlie dug up on his opponent from over twenty years back.
ALL IS FAIR IN LOVE AND WAR AND POLITICS, RIGHT? LOTS OF FINGER POINTING, LOT OF ACCUSATIONS AGAINST HIS OPPONENT BUT NOT ONE SYLLABLE ABOUT HIS QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND ABILITIES.
