My union elections require 50%+1 for the winner. So in an election like the supervisors, if the initial election didn't generate a majority, there will be a run off of the top 2....
this rule for the Ibew was used for our first president (1891) when 6 people were on the ballot. After the first round they eliminated the low vote getter, then ran again with 5. I think the original election took 4 ballots....
