I don't know anything about any of this. But what did these "better than than Ed" people want to do? Put in a big box/chain business in? Hell, I'd be against that, too. The only chains that seem to be surviving are food chains. The writing is on the wall...won't be long before they'll be closing up left and right, too. The independently owned places are thriving and more opening all the time. Even Ted Drewes has sense enough not to franchise his frozen custard...he knows the quality will plummet...as all food chains do.
Again, that's just a thought because I don't know what the issues are. Maybe it would help if I did.
That being said, Granite has greatly improved thanks to Brenda and the others that have chosen to DO something. The idea that there's some hanky panky involved sounds like a grudge thing to me, especially when they're so successful...that's why I'm wondering about my opening statement in this response. Maybe Art would be a better mayor...I don't know. But we have to be honest and not be butt hurt because someone or their friend or relative has presented a business proposal that got turned down when that idea might be a disaster (and that's just a thought...not based on anything or any one).
My hope is that G.C. thrives. I don't care who the mayor is that could accomplish that and don't know enough about the candidates to make any judgements.
