Preach on Brother Dee. I'm glad my professional career was nearly completed before this wave of technology took over. Had one of my subordinates been in a meeting with me and had that annoying beep going off, they would have been asked to leave the meeting. Had they accepted a call during one of my meetings, or responded to a text, the next communication they received would have been a pink slip.
I hate being at a restaurant and listening to some moron on a cell phone while his young children need his attention. I hate when teens ignore their parents while texting friends at a restaurant where the parents are treating them to a nice meal.
Communication is a wonderful thing. Someday we won't even need other people in our lives. We'll just text robots who are programmed to respond the way we want them to.
